Committing to a responsibility you are not ready for can be very difficult. Many people have given up on great ideas and possible impact due to unreadiness. The truth is, readiness doesn't guarantee that the journey will be easy or a smooth ride. Readiness does not eradicate the challenges that come with responsibility but it assures you of overcoming them.
How To Know You Are Ready
Readiness comes with awareness. When you finally come to realize the weight or burden of the responsibility or task and you are undeterred, you are possibly ready. When you understand what is at stake and you are ready to bear the cost, you are ready. One beautiful truth about readiness is that you don't have to be 100% ready to start. You can start up on your ideas while continuing to perfect your readiness. Once you start you also get better clarity of what you have taken on.
Readiness is certainly not perfection. The fact that things didn't turn out perfectly doesn't mean you are not ready. Even when you are ready you will still require improvements and revisions. Why? Because readiness is a resolve to do.
