Nutrition is important for everyone, especially teenagers. Nutrition can be subjective and different for every individual. However, there are a few things we can keep in mind. Here are three things we should be doing.
Eating balanced meals -
We hear this term a lot but what does it mean? It means that we should include all food groups in all of our meals. These food groups are protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals. We consume all of these food groups every day but most of us don't know what they are. Knowing how much of a food group we consume helps us prevent lacking nutrients and remaining healthy.
Drinking enough fluids -
Hydration is also equally important. Dehydration happens when we don't drink enough water and lose more fluid than we take in. It is more common in teenagers and the main symptoms of dehydration are vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, and confusion. Dehydration is not good for our bodies because it can lead to muscle damage and it can affect our kidney function as well.
Follow your nutrition -
As I said earlier, nutrition is incredibly subjective because your food intake depends on many factors. It can include your activity levels, environment, taste, culture, and overall eating habits. So, you can't copy someone's diet or nutrition intake to help you.
To conclude, nutrition is different for every individual and you can keep these three important things in mind.
Yours Truly,
Dear Youth Global
