This is a question that most of us probably have already thought about. And the answer is pretty simple:Yes, it is. The biggest problem is that people don't know enough about it. I mean, do you know what climate change is? It is not the Earth heating up. Actually if the Earth had not heated, we could not have lived here. There are some effects which help the Earth to warm, such as the Sun and the greenhouse gasses. The basic function of these gasses are to prevent the energy that the world needs from escaping. So they hold the heat that comes from the Sun. They have always existed and always will. The Earth always heats up due to these gasses but right now the heating rate is different. Our planet is warming so much faster than it used to. Global average temperatures increased 1.1°C in the last few hundred years! This much of a change would normally happen thousands to million years. But what caused it?
Scientists clearly say that current global warming can't be caused by the change of energy that comes from the Sun because if that was the case all layers of the atmosphere would start heating up but they only see this situation in the lower parts of it. So all to blame is extreme human activities. For example the wrong agriculture and livestock techniques emit so much gas. To prevent extra emission from these industries people choose a vegan lifestyle and decide which food and fruit to buy carefully in order to find the ones that were grown up by better farming practices. Or another well-known reason: fossil fuels. They are a good way to store energy but release lots of CO2 when burned. So what can we do about the emission of these gasses? It depends on three things:
world population
consumption(the number of products used by people)
emission per product
We cannot lower the world population and consumption. We also can't use "less" energy because the quantity of used energy is highly linked to the development level of a country. So,the only way out is making changes in "emission per product". We can achieve it by using renewable energy sources instead of fossil ones. But all of these renewable sources have their own difficulties. Sometimes they are so expensive(like nuclear plants), sometimes hard to store the energy(like wind and solar energy). So people have been trying hard to achieve new technologies.
At this point we all have responsibilities. Starting with being more aware of the new challenges our planet is facing.
